OpenBox IPTV Setup Guide
Easy instructions to set up IPTV on your OpenBox receiver
Check Your Internet Connection
Before setting up IPTV on your OpenBox, make sure your device is connected to the internet either through Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.
Pro Tip
For the best streaming experience, a wired Ethernet connection is recommended as it provides more stable speeds compared to Wi-Fi, especially for HD content.
Prepare Your M3U URL
Before starting the setup process, make sure you have your M3U URL ready. This URL should have been provided to you after subscribing to an IPTV service.
Note
Keep your M3U URL safe and don't share it with others. Some providers limit the number of devices that can use a single subscription simultaneously.
Access the Internet Browser
On your OpenBox receiver, navigate to and open the 'Internet Browser' application:
- Press the MENU button on your remote control
- Navigate to the Internet or Apps section
- Select Internet Browser and press OK
Save Your M3U URL
Once the Internet Browser is open, follow these steps:
- Copy and paste your M3U URL into the address bar
- Press Enter or the OK button on your remote
- When prompted, select Save As
- Change the file name to NOVA IPTV
- Press OK to save
Pro Tip
If you have trouble using the on-screen keyboard, consider connecting a USB keyboard to your OpenBox for easier text input.
Transfer to USB Drive
After saving the file on your computer, you need to transfer it to a USB drive:
- Insert a USB drive into your computer
- Locate the saved "NOVA IPTV" file
- Copy the file to the USB drive
- Safely eject the USB drive from your computer
- Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the back of your OpenBox
Note
Make sure the USB drive is formatted as FAT32 for the best compatibility with OpenBox devices.
Load the M3U File on OpenBox
Now that your USB drive is connected to the OpenBox, follow these steps on your OpenBox device:
- Press the MENU button on your remote control
- Navigate to Network Local Settings
- Select Network App
- Select NOVAIPTV
- Press the Yellow button on your remote to read from USB
- Wait for the "Success" message to appear
Start Watching IPTV
After successfully loading the M3U file, you can start watching IPTV channels:
- The channel list should automatically load after the "Success" message
- Use the navigation buttons on your remote to browse through the channels
- Press OK to watch a selected channel
Pro Tip
You can use the color buttons on your remote to access additional features. For example, the red button often gives you access to the electronic program guide (EPG).
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues while watching IPTV channels, try these troubleshooting steps:
- Restart your OpenBox: Power off your OpenBox, wait for 30 seconds, and then power it back on.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router: Unplug your router, wait for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.
- Check your internet connection: Make sure your OpenBox has a stable internet connection.
- Verify your M3U file: Ensure that the M3U file on your USB drive is correctly named and formatted.
Important
If you continue to experience issues, check if your IPTV subscription is active and valid. Contact your IPTV service provider for assistance if needed.
Ready to Enjoy IPTV
Congratulations! You have successfully set up IPTV on your OpenBox receiver. You can now enjoy thousands of live channels, movies, series, and more.
Remember that your channel list will automatically update whenever your IPTV provider makes changes to their channel lineup. If you ever need to update your subscription manually, simply follow the steps in this guide again with your new M3U URL.
Pro Tip
Explore your OpenBox remote control functions to discover additional features like favorites, EPG (Electronic Program Guide), and recording options to enhance your viewing experience.
