Kodi IPTV Setup Guide
Setup PVR IPTV Simple Client on Kodi 17 (Krypton) and Up
Open Kodi and Navigate to TV Section
Launch Kodi on your device and navigate to the TV section from the home screen.
Pro Tip
If this is your first time setting up IPTV on Kodi, you might see a message saying "No channels available" which is expected at this stage.
Enter Add-on Browser
From the TV section, select "Enter add-on browser" to access the PVR add-ons.
Select PVR IPTV Simple Client
In the add-on browser, locate and select "PVR IPTV Simple Client" from the list of available PVR clients.
Note
If PVR IPTV Simple Client is not installed yet, you'll be prompted to install it first. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Select Configure
After selecting the PVR IPTV Simple Client, choose the "Configure" option to access the settings.
Select General
In the configuration menu, select the "General" tab to access the main settings for the PVR client.
Configure M3U Playlist Location
Choose the location type for your M3U playlist:
- If you have your subscription M3U URL, set Location to "Remote Path"
- Then select M3U Play List URL
- Enter the URL of your M3U Play List and select OK
Alternative Option
If you have an M3U text file stored locally on your network/computer/box, then set the Location to "Local Path" (include Local Network). Then select M3U PlayList URL, navigate to where the file is stored, and select it.
Pro Tip
Make sure to enter the complete URL including the "http://" or "https://" prefix for your M3U playlist. Double-check for any typing errors as this is the most common cause of setup issues.
Wait for Channels to Load
After configuring the M3U playlist settings:
- Select OK to save your settings
- Wait for the notification that channels have been loaded
- Return to the Kodi Home Screen and select TV
Pro Tip
Depending on the size of your M3U playlist, it might take a few moments for all channels to load. Be patient and wait for the notification before attempting to access the TV section.
Enjoy Your IPTV Service
Your IPTV service is now set up and ready to use. You can now browse through channels, create favorites, and enjoy streaming content on Kodi.

- No channels appear: Verify your M3U playlist URL is correct and your subscription is active.
- Buffering issues: Check your internet connection speed and stability.
- Missing EPG: Ensure your EPG URL is correctly configured in the EPG settings tab.
- Kodi freezing: Try clearing the Kodi cache or restarting the application.
Note
If problems persist, try uninstalling and reinstalling the PVR IPTV Simple Client addon. Sometimes a fresh installation can resolve configuration issues.
